Christopher W Quigley is an interdisciplinary artist and designer whose work explores themes of entropy, impermanence, and transformation. With a background in interior and urban design, his practice spans over 20 years of fabrication of public art, sculpture, and immersive installations.

His additional works, including Ephemeral Monolith, Last Adventure Tours, and Echinoidea, and Civil examine the breakdown of systems—whether societal, environmental, or personal—questioning what remains after structures collapse. Transformation of Dangerous Spaces continues this exploration by confronting the silent, eroding forces of complicity, power, and gendered violence, using immersive experience as a catalyst for awareness and accountability.

Quigley has a focus on engaging audiences beyond passive observation. His projects challenge viewers to step inside the collapse of ideas, norms, and histories, asking not just what disappears over time, but what emerges in its place.

My Story

Christopher W. Quigley educated as an Interior Designer and Urban Designer is the founder and CEO of Agency Custom.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Christopher W. Quigley. I have a background in interior design and urban design, and I am the owner of Agency Custom. My love for custom builds started early, working on old cars with my Aunt Wendy. I have fond childhood memories of cruising around our horse farm in rural Manitoba in her ‘66 Pontiac Parisienne, what we called our “Sunday Drives”. That passion for all things custom continues to this day and led to the creation of Agency Custom, which has quickly grown into a leading custom fabrication resource for architects, interior designers, lighting designers, developers, and construction professionals.

In addition to custom design, I’ve recently expanded my passion into the world of public art. My work, such as Ephemeral Monolith and other large-scale sculptures, allows me to explore the beauty of transformation and natural decay, inviting viewers to engage with the evolving nature of art over time.

Unique lighting and controls turn this mid-western university theater renovation into an unprecedented experience for students, staff and the regional community. The custom chandelier has RGBA LEDs and kinetic arms. Due to spatial limitations from aiming angles of followspot, the design solution resulted in a retractable articulating large scale chandelier.

During commissioning five shows were programmed into the system. Standard programming effects are compiled and arranged into themed shows that relate to the chandelier shape and position such as flowers blooming, swirling storm, and color explosion..
